Ethereum Address Validator

Check the format of a Ethereum public address before using it in a test or workflow. Paste the address and click Validate to see the result.

Validate a public address

Accepts 0x-prefixed Ethereum addresses. Surrounding spaces are ignored.

What is checked?

Checks the 20-byte hexadecimal address format. Lowercase and uppercase addresses are accepted; mixed-case addresses must pass the EIP-55 checksum. ENS names are not addresses and are not resolved.

Validation runs locally using the open-source scure-base and noble-hashes libraries. A valid format does not confirm ownership, account activity, balance, or the intended recipient.

Does a valid result prove who owns the address?

No. Format validation does not identify the owner, check the balance, or confirm that an address is the intended destination. Compare the entire address and network with the information supplied by the recipient.
