Unix timestamp to Date and Time converter

Turn a Unix timestamp in seconds into a readable date and time. The result uses your browser’s timezone to help you interpret timestamps from logs or APIs.

Enter a Unix timestamp

Enter whole seconds, not milliseconds. The result updates as you type.

Browser timezone:

How it works

A Unix timestamp represents seconds since January 1, 1970 at 00:00:00 UTC. Zero represents that instant; negative values represent earlier dates.

The result uses your browser’s timezone and regional date format, including the timezone offset applicable at that date. A timestamp can therefore display a different calendar date in different timezones. For a timestamp in milliseconds, divide it by 1,000 before entering whole seconds here.

Should I enter seconds or milliseconds?

This converter expects seconds. For a timestamp supplied in milliseconds, divide it by 1,000 first. Unix timestamp 0 represents January 1, 1970 at 00:00 UTC; the displayed local time depends on your timezone.
